Starting young is what we encourage to enable a lifetime of wonderful experiences and memories and hopefully creating long lasting ambassadors for the well being of our seas and its inhabitants.
At Watercolours Dive Centre we offer different introduction options that best suits your needs.
First experience for Kids is an easy and fun activity for children aged 8 to 10 years old.
Try Scuba Diving is a great option for those that can’t wait to jump into the sea.
Basic Diver Activity is a lengthier introduction to scuba diving including an initial pool dive before venturing into the sea.

First experience for Kids
Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater?
This experience is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world as a child. To sign up for this experience, you must be at least 8 years old.
No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be comfortable in the water. Are you ready for the ultimate adventure?

WHAT DOES THIS ACTIVITY INVOLVE
Have you ever wondered what it feels like to breathe underwater? Aren’t you curious to know what lies beneath the waves?
This first experience for kids is an introduction to the thrill of breathing underwater. Now is your chance to take the plunge with one of our highly trained Instructors and try scuba diving safely in the pool and/or a confined shallow area in the sea.
This experience is a great way to learn new skills, meet new friends and be introduced to the magical underwater world and what better place to do it than in the crystal clear waters of Malta. Sounds like fun?
Mum and Dads are more than welcome to join in.

Try Scuba Diving
If you simply want to see what all the fuss is about then enrol in our Try Scuba Diving activity. This magical first experience will remain imprinted for the rest of your life. This is a safe and easy taster done either in a pool or confined shallow area of the sea right by our dive centre.

Our Try Scuba Diving program is a quick, safe and easy introduction into what it takes to explore the underwater world in the most enjoyable way and under the direct control of a qualified Instructor.
People of all ages are welcome to try out this addictive feeling of weightlessness, a feeling that you’ll remember for the rest of your life.

Basic Diver Activity
If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, this Basic Diver activity is for you.
A quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. To sign up for the SSI Basic Diver experience, you must be at least 10 years old.

This activity includes a theory session, a pool dive and one dive in the sea.
No prior experience is necessary.
WHAT DOES THIS ACTIVITY INVOLVE
This half day activity guides you gently into this wonderful and safe sport. Together with an experienced Instructor you’ll first discuss many different topics regarding Marine Diving Safety, Scuba Diving Equipment, Necessary Scuba Diving Skills (Theory & Practice), Marine Life Awareness, Conservation and The Diving Environment.
After this very interesting in-depth briefing a pool dive will follow. This is where the student breathes for the first time underwater and learns how to use the diving equipment in the safe, shallow confines of either our training pools or confined water. The student will also further build confidence by performing basic scuba diving skills under the direct supervision of a qualified Instructor.
After this first pool/confined dive an Open Water scuba dive will follow where the student simply enjoys a shallow scuba dive in the open sea, again, under the direct supervision of a qualified Instructor. This second dive usually lasts around an hour.
After this half day activity is completed the student has the option & will be ready to progress towards either the SSI Scuba Diver Course or the SSI Open Water Diver Course, within 6 months, and avail themselves of our upgrade offers.
This also means that the money spent on this activity could be deducted from the next upgraded course.
